Central Florida Prepares 2010
Family Physician's Group and the Ana G. Mendez University System present Central Florida Prepares 2010, an emergency preparedness and health screening event on Saturday June 5  from 9:00AM to 1:00PM at 5601 S. Semoran Blvd. (Terracotta Plaza), Orlando, 32822. 

There will be free health screenings, information about emergency preparedness and available community resources. Also look for the "Q and A" session by experts in emergency preparedness such as: American Red Cross, Emergency Management personnel from the City of Orlando and Orange County, and others.

Make 'm Smile 2010
Make 'm Smile 2010 happens Saturday June 5, from 7:30AM to 1:00PM at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando, 101 N. Rosalind Ave, Orlando, FL 32801.

Make 'm Smile is a community festival that celebrates kids with special needs (VIP kids) and their families and features a Buddy Stroll where VIP families are "buddied up" with people from around the community for a stroll around Lake Eola. Enjoy free food, entertainment, prizes, and a chance to visit exhibitors that service the special needs community.

Make 'm Smile is presented by Nathaniel's Hope, a nonprofit founded to assist special needs kids and their families.  For more information CLICK HERE to visit the event website.

The Family Cafe is coming up June 18 through 20 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, 1000 W. Buena Vista Dr., Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

event provides a truly unique environment, where Floridians can attend educational breakout sessions relevant to their specific needs, interact with government policy makers, network with other families and learn about the wide range of services available to them. The Family Cafe is committed to the belief that better informed individuals make better decisions for themselves.

No Cost Amplified Telephones
CIL in partnership with Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) distributes specialized telephone equipment at no cost to permanent residents of Florida who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or speech impaired.Amplified telephone

The Right to Know
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in the United States, after skin cancer. Women living with disabilities are at the same risk as women without disabilities of developing breast cancer. The "Right to Know" campaign was developed to promote breast cancer screening among women living with physical disabilities through the dissemination of educational materials.  CIL supports this important educational effort led by the University of Florida.
