What is CIL? The Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc. is a private, 501 (c)(3), non-profit organization serving people with disabilities. We promote the rights of people with disabilities to live independently, enjoy self-determination, make choices, contribute to society, and enjoy full inclusion and integration in the economic, political, social, cultural, and educational mainstream of society. What types of services does CIL provide? CIL advocacy, peer support, information and referral, skills raining,provides, employment assistance, distribution of specialized telecommunications equipment for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired, benefits planning and assistance, and other services. Is CIL a government agency? The Center for Independent Living (CIL) is a private, non-profit organization which is funded through contributions, grants, and foundations from both private and public funding sources. Is CIL a residential facility? No. CIL provides education, resources and training to people with disabilites and the community.
